Benihana Inc., based in Aventura, Florida, is an American restaurant company. It was founded in 1964 in New York City by Hiroaki Aoki. The teppanyaki (also known as hibachi) restaurant idea and originated in Japan in the late 1940s.
It was introduced by Benihana to the United States, and later to several other countries. Benihana has a new healthy menu option with eight new meals that are lower in calories, fat, and sodium than the rest of their menu, and they avoid excessive sodium and carbohydrate intake.
