White Castle is a fast-food restaurant chain that specializes in sliders. Back when the chain first opened its doors, each slider was sold for just 5¢—things have obviously changed a little since then, but it’s still possible to find cheap eats at White Castle! Vegans in the mood for a burger will probably be thinking they won’t be able to eat, but we’re here to tell you that it isn’t impossible to order vegan at White Castle.
We’ve done the research and have found that there are 4 vegan options at White Castle (if you omit certain toppings from your food). There are 2 sliders to choose from: the Impossible Slider (order this without cheese) and the Veggie Slider (made with real veggies rather than a meat replacement). Round out your meal with French Fries, or, if you’re eating at breakfast time, enjoy the Hash Brown Nibblers. However, you should note that the fries and hash browns are cooked in the same oil as the meat- and fish-containing products, so if you’re strict with your veganism, you might prefer to skip these.
It’s also worth being aware of which sauces you add to your sliders. All cheese sauces are off-limits, as is the Honey Mustard and Zesty Zing Sauce. Stick with classics like ketchup and BBQ if you want to make sure you’re ordering fully vegan food at White Castle.
