Yoshinoya is a fast-growing Japanese multinational fast-food chain serving Gyudon or beef bowls at over 3000 locations in Asia and the US. Its stands by the motto "Tasty, low-priced, and quick.". Yoshinoya is most well known for its signature seasoned sliced beef simmered in Yoshinoya's special broth served with fluffy rice. Yoshinoya now serves at least 500,000 tasty bowls daily in all their branches worldwide. Despite this impressive number, does this restaurant cater to specialized diets like the keto diet?
According to the official nutrition menu, there are up to 11 keto options available at Yoshinoya depending on your remaining carb allowance.
Starting with the appetizers, we recommend the all-time Asian favorite, Springs Rolls 2 pc or 4 pc that has 1g and 3g of total carbohydrates respectively. For the entree beef bowl, Yoshinoya serves it with fluffy rice. As a keto eater, it is a must to distance yourself from white rice as it is high in carbohydrates.
For protein, there are six available keto options but we highly recommend the Regular Tilapia, Regular Original Beef, and Regular Teriyaki Chicken that have 1g, 8g, and 11g of total carbohydrates respectively. These proteins have the lowest carb count so you can enjoy your food without worrying about kicking yourself out of ketosis.
If you have more carb allowance, you can opt for the Regular Habanero Chicken with 18g of total carbohydrates or the Large Teriyaki Chicken with 16g of total carbohydrates. For veggies, the Vegetable Regular is your best bet for a keto diet as it has only 7g of total carbohydrates.
