Taco John’s is a fast-food restaurant chain that serves up Mexican-style cuisine. You’ll obviously find a range of tacos on the menu, but you can also find burritos, nachos, salads, and a range of side dishes to round out your meal. Mexican fast food isn’t particularly well known for offering varied vegan choices, but it is possible to order vegan food at Taco John’s.
We took a close look at the online menu and allergen information and found that there are 6 vegan options at Taco John’s. Unfortunately, none of the tacos are suitable for vegans, as they all contain meat and cheese—with no plant-based alternative on offer, a taco without these two ingredients is pretty much just a tortilla with some lettuce! However, you can order a Bean Burrito with no cheese, meaning you can still satisfy your Mexican craving.
Other vegan choices at Taco John’s include the Refried Beans (again, make sure to order these with no cheese), the Potato Olés (a bit like hash browns), the Chips, the Side Salad (without cheese), and even the Cinnamon Sugar Tortilla Crisps. It may also be possible to ask for a Boss Bowl without meat, cheese, or sour cream, so ask your server.
Whatever you choose, you’ll find a range of dips, sauces, and dressings that are vegan at Taco John’s, including the Guacamole (yum!) and the House Salsa.
