Shake Shack is an American fast-casual restaurant chain that has grown from a hot dog cart to one of the largest restaurant chains in the world. Shake Shack's most popular menu items are the burgers and sandwiches but you'll also find other food items like fries and shakes. As vegans already know, ordering non-meat food items at casual restaurants can be difficult but how about at Shake Shack?
According to the ingredients list provided on their website, there are 2 vegan option at Shake Shack that does not contain animal products.
As much as we want to recommend many food items for you to enjoy your Shake Shack dining experience, unfortunately, most of the food items here are not vegan friendly. You'll obviously need to avoid the chicken and most of the burger items including the famous ShackBurger as it is served with a meat patty.
On a lighter note, Shake Shack now offers the Veggie Shack which features a vegan patty made with greens, grains, and herbs at selected locations. We highly advise ordering the Veggie Shack without cheese and substitute the bun with a lettuce wrap or gluten-free bun. This meal contains black beans, brown rice, roasted beets, lettuce, tomato, onions, and vegan mustard mayo too.
Many people love the Shake Shack fries as well. However, it may not be an option for some vegans as it is fried using the same fryer for other meat-based selections.
